If you’re looking for an Oriental rug with an edge that will stand out, a Caucasian inspired design would certainly resonate with most interior settings. Paired with intricate designs, the rug’s overall feel and composition gives off a warm cozy vibe. Hand Knotted in pure wool, the ensemble is luxurious and vibrant. This Shirvan inspired dazzling rug made under the auspices of rural India, is finished with bold emphatic motifs and it's worth mentioning that while the overall pattern may be inclined towards some element of sophistication, they almost always retain an element of rustic charm.

This Caucasian Shirvan inspired prayer rug with such effusive and masterfully controlled artistry is a product of our workshop in rural India. The sombre ivory field of this rug is host to an effervescent array of stylized blossoms, each painstakingly rendered in highly individual hues. They ascend in even rows toward an understated mihrab arch, itself enriched by a mosaic of colorful detail, arranged as if by microscope with distinct naturally dyed tones. Energetic borders fully participate in the kaleidoscopic spectacle, contributing abstract blossoms and complex diagonal stripes to the creative display of this superb Indian rug.

How to care for your rug:

  • Vacuum regularly to prevent dirt from the surface
  • If spills occur, do not rub or spread the stain. Simply blot the affected area with a dry cloth or a tissue to absorb the stain and work towards the stain.
  • Use warm water diluted in clear white vinegar to manage the dyes
  • It's recommended that you rotate the rug (not too often) to equalize the surface wear
  • If heavy furniture is placed over the rug, use a protector to avoid damaging the surface of the rug.
  • If your carpet is of hand-knotted wool, do not worry about furniture indents, simple vacuuming against the pile will prop up the surface once again.
  • Professional cleaning: Every year, depending on the usage of the rug
  • Surface shedding: Non natural materials will not shed. Hand Knotted rugs do not shed.
